Beer Here: Two Roads & Evil Twin Geyser Gose

Two Roads Evil Twin Geyser Gose Beer Collaboration

Two Roads Brewing Company and Evil Twin Brewing have announced a collaboration beer. Brewed in Iceland, the geographic midpoint between the two breweries' locations (Connecticut and Denmark), this sour Gose beer was brewed with herbs, kelp, sea salt and Icelandic moss.

The beer will release on October 14th, and will be available wherever Two Roads and Evil Twin beers are sold.

Here is the release from Two Roads:

Two Roads is proud to announce its first ever brewing collaboration with friend and contract brewing partner- Evil Twin Brewing.

The story of this particular collaboration begins with an unlikely expedition down a road less traveled.

In 2014, over several “I Love You With My Stouts” and “Road 2 Ruins," Danish Brewer Jeppe Jarnit-Bjergsø of Evil Twin and Two Roads Brewmaster Phil Markowski decided they would do a unique collaboration at the geographic mid-point between America and Denmark. In February of 2015, they traveled to Iceland, the land of the Vikings, geysers, ice and volcanoes, to seek collaborative inspiration (and adventure!)

After a harrowing drive on snow covered roads, the group ended up at Gæðingur Brugghús, a farmhouse brewery in the Northern Iceland village of Skagafirði. With the help of its Brewmaster Arni, Two Roads and Evil Twin sourced local ingredients including Icelandic moss, rye, herbs, sea kelp, skyr (Icelandic yogurt) and birch-smoked sea salt to create a Two + Evil twist on a gose beer; a sour wheat-style ale dating back to 16th century Germany.

"It was a blast traveling to Iceland with Jeppe to brew our Geyser Gose prototype," said Two Roads Brewmaster Markowski. "The guys at the Gaedingur Brewery were great to work with and showed us incredible hospitality."

Jeppe added, "to meet right between my home country and Phil's home country made so much sense and to brew a beer inspired by the local environment meant even more."

The result of this adventure is Two Evil Geyser Gose: A classic sour/tart beer with a hint of smoke, light lemon color, dry finish and thirst quenching appeal.

Two Evil Geyser Gose will be available in 16 oz pint cans as well as on draft in both Two Roads and Evil Twin's markets.

Join both brewers at Two Roads Brewery on October 14th at 5 p.m. for the release of this beer. Toasts will be given and photos of the spectacular trip will be shown.

Sometimes the best collaborations and friendships involve taking a road less traveled.
